Board and governance.
SAIG is governed by an independent foundation board. The board is responsible for the certification scheme, all certification decisions, objections and complaints. Assessment delivery and development are outsourced to specialised external parties.
The board
Composition.
SAIG's board consists of at least three members. Board members are appointed for a four-year term, renewable once. The board sets the certification scheme, takes certification decisions and handles objections and complaints.
The composition of the board will be published on this page in due course.
Board powers
What the board does.
- Adoption and revision of the certification scheme
- Taking certification decisions based on assessment results
- Handling objections and complaints
- Entering into strategic partnerships and contracts with external parties
- Adoption of the annual plan, the annual report and the fees
External partners
Assessment and development outsourced.
For assessment delivery, SAIG works with an independent assessment platform. Assessment development and quality validation are provided by an external specialised party. Both engage with SAIG on a contractual basis and form no part of the board or governance structure.
Objections and complaints
Independent handling.
An objection to a certification decision is handled by a board member who was not involved in the original decision. Complaints can be submitted via the complaints procedure.
